Flight from Bogotá to Leticia.
Upon arrival at Leticia airport, you’ll be met by one of our local guides, who will go through your travel program and take you to the Natural Reserve. Our adventure will start hiking along an ecological trail or kayaking, depending on the water level of the day.
In the late afternoon, we’ll go on a fascinating safari through the jungle, you will be able to get a glimpse of the diverse nocturnal wildlife in the area. Spend the evening at the Natural Reserve, enjoying the local cuisine and your stay in a cabin or the enchanting treehouse accommodation.
After breakfast, your tour guide will meet you and take you to the port of Leticia. From here, we’ll navigate down the world’s largest river, contemplating the vastness and unique landscapes of the rainforest. After the brief journey through the Amazon River, we’ll hike in the forest for about an hour to Marasha. (In winter, this part of the journey will be by canoe). Marasha is one of the most awaited places for adventures. (We’ll be spending the night here. Bring extra clothes & swimsuit for the next day).
Kayaking, sport fishing, hiking, and wildlife sighting are just some of the activities we will enjoy here. Marasha is home to a wide variety of creatures, such us reptiles, toucans, macaws, sloths, squirrels, monkeys, frogs, and many more species. This magical place also shelters the famous and well-known plant Queen Amazonica. Delight yourself with the majestic scenery of rustic huts, and traditional malokas.
Once the sun goes down, the jungle comes to life with a completely new assortment of nocturnal creatures that come out; it’s time for our second nocturnal safari, this time by canoe. (This activity is optional and at no extra cost.) Alternatively, you can relax in the Reserve.
Get dinner and a well-deserved rest.
After Breakfast, we will head towards the Monkey Island, home to playful primates, howler monkeys, woolly monkeys, spider monkeys, pichicos, stumps, and other animals. We’ll Primarily interact with the squirrel monkey specie, known for their small size, agile movements, and long, non-prehensile tails. We’ll learn more about their diet, habitat, social structure, communication and how to protect them. This would be an unforgettable experience!
Our journey unfolds into an immersive cultural experience in the Ticunas native community, where we’ll become deeply involved in their way of life, traditions, and customs. Continuing our tour, we’ll venture towards the Town of Puerto Nariño and The Lake Tarapoto. here, we’ll look for the enchanting Amazon River dolphin and the majestic pirarucu, the largest known scaly fish. Weather permitting, we will visit Puerto Alegria (Peru). Today’s excursion includes a traditional Amazonian lunch.
Return before dark to the hotel in Leticia for your last evening in the Colombian rainforest.
After breakfast at your hotel, one of our representatives will meet you at your hotel and take you to the airport for your journey home or on to your next destination. Alternatively, if you have extra time choose one of our other exciting tours or rainforest excursions.
